Childrens Mini Ballet in Studio Core & Emotion

Mini Ballet

Dance, learn, and grow with ease.

Mini Ballet

Mini ballet takes children aged 5 to 7 one step further into the world of dance – without any pressure to perform, but with lots of fun, music, and imagination. At this stage, children are already developing greater body awareness and concentration, which enables them to learn the basics of classical ballet.

Basic ballet positions, simple combinations, and flowing movements are introduced in a playful yet structured manner. We promote posture, coordination, musicality, and discipline—always in an age-appropriate, creative, and loving way.

The lessons combine clear dance elements with stories, images, and music that stimulate the imagination and turn learning into an experience. Children learn to express themselves, move to the beat, and create small choreographies together in a group.

In addition to physical abilities, this also promotes self-confidence, expressiveness, and team spirit—values that extend far beyond dancing.

Mini ballet strikes the perfect balance between structure and play, technique and enjoyment—an invitation to every child to discover the beauty of dance and move with pride and ease.

Frequently asked questions

How does mini ballet differ from pre-ballet?

Mini ballet teaches the basics of ballet, such as positions, simple combinations, and movement sequences.
The lessons remain playful, but already contain more structure and technique—ideal for children who enjoy dancing and want to learn a little bit “more.”

Does my child need previous experience in dance or ballet?

No, previous experience is not necessary. Many children start at the age of 5–7 and find this the perfect introduction. We begin with basic steps and gradually increase the difficulty at the child's own pace.

Why is regular participation in mini ballet particularly important?

Children of this age learn movement sequences, coordination, and posture only through repetition and routine. Regular participation ensures that your child makes progress, gains self-confidence, and continues to enjoy dancing.
Irregular attendance makes it difficult to keep up and can lead to frustration.

What happens in a typical mini ballet class?

After a short warm-up, exercises are performed at the imaginary “barre” or in the middle of the room, including small combinations, jumps, balance exercises, and usually ending with a short, creative sequence. The structure helps the children to orient themselves and learn new steps with confidence.

What should my child wear to the class?

For the first few lessons, comfortable clothing that allows your child to move freely—such as leggings and a T-shirt—and non-slip socks are sufficient.
Once it is clear that your child will be attending regularly, we will provide you with all the information you need on where to buy the appropriate ballet clothing (leotard, tights, and ballet shoes) for the respective course.
It is important to us that every child feels comfortable—without any stress at the start.
Please also bring a small water bottle.

Can boys also participate in children's ballet?

Of course! Dance and movement promote body awareness, coordination, and expressiveness — regardless of gender. All children are welcome in our classes.

What if my child is shy or reserved?

That's perfectly normal! Many children only start to blossom after a few hours at this age. The clear structure of the lessons and familiar rituals help them feel more secure. Regular participation helps enormously in coming out of their shell.

Are parents allowed to watch the lessons?

At the first appointment, yes, please – after that, it is usually easier for the children to dance independently and engage in the lessons. At the end of each course block or semester, there are small performances where the children can show what they have learned.

What happens if my child has physical limitations or motor challenges?

We respond sensitively and adapt exercises accordingly. Mini ballet can even improve motor skills. For more severe limitations, we will discuss together whether the course is suitable.

What if my child is sick or cannot attend the course?

Please let us know as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend class — preferably via WhatsApp, phone call, or email.
As we deliberately keep our groups small, we unfortunately have to cancel the course if fewer than three children are participating.
A quick reply helps us greatly with our planning—thank you for your understanding!

What applies during school vacations and on public holidays?

During Bavarian school vacations and on public holidays, children's ballet classes are generally not held.
During these periods, regular classes are suspended so that children can enjoy their vacations.
We will inform you of the exact dates in good time before each vacation period.

How can I register my child for the children's ballet class?

Since our ballet classes have fixed times and limited places, we ask you to contact us in advance—preferably via WhatsApp, email, or in person at the studio. This will allow us to find the right class for your child together. We recommend arranging a trial lesson or trial month first so that your child can get to know the class and the group and you can be sure that they will enjoy it.

Why is the monthly fee for children's/teen courses also due during school vacations?

Our fees are calculated as an annual fee and are paid in twelve equal monthly installments. School vacations and public holidays are already taken into account in this calculation – so the amount remains constant instead of fluctuating every month.
Running costs (e.g., rent, staff, administration) are incurred throughout the year; by keeping the installments the same, we ensure quality, planning security, and your reserved place on the course, even during the holidays.
