Children's ballet
Children's ballet at Studio Core & Emotion is more than just dance—it is movement, expression, and playful learning all at once. In our lovingly designed courses, children discover their joy in music, rhythm, and movement in a natural, age-appropriate way.
Through stories, pictures, and cheerful music, children learn their first dance moves, improve their coordination, and develop body awareness, balance, and posture. The focus is not on perfect technique, but on the joy of movement, imagination, and confidence in one's own body.
Our children's ballet classes are divided into two age groups to provide each child with optimal support and guidance:
Pre-Ballet (3–4 years): First steps in dance, a sense of rhythm, and expression through playful movement. Children dance with imagination and discover joy, self-confidence, and musicality.
Mini-Ballet (5–7 years): Building on pre-ballet, simple ballet positions and small combinations are learned. Music, movement, and teamwork create a playful approach to posture, discipline, and expression.
In every lesson, we create a loving atmosphere in which children can develop freely—without any pressure, but with a lot of heart.
Frequently asked questions
At what age can my child start ballet?
Our pre-ballet classes are suitable for children aged 3 and above. The focus here is on discovering movement, rhythm, and imagination through play.
From the age of 5, children can learn the basics of classical ballet in mini ballet classes—always age-appropriate and lots of fun.
Does my child need previous experience in dance or ballet?
No, not at all. The children are introduced to movement and dance in a loving and playful way. Our focus is on conveying the joy of movement and building self-confidence — not on perfect technique.
What should my child wear to the class?
For the first few lessons, comfortable clothing that allows your child to move freely—such as leggings and a T-shirt—and non-slip socks are sufficient.
Once it is clear that your child will be attending regularly, we will provide you with all the information you need on where to buy the appropriate ballet clothing (leotard, tights, and ballet shoes) for the respective course.
It is important to us that every child feels comfortable—without any stress at the start.
Please also bring a small water bottle.
Can boys also participate in children's ballet?
Of course! Dance and movement promote body awareness, coordination, and expressiveness — regardless of gender. All children are welcome in our classes.
Are parents allowed to watch the lessons?
At the first appointment, yes, please – after that, it is usually easier for the children to dance independently and engage in the lessons. At the end of each course block or semester, there are small performances where the children can show what they have learned.
What happens in a typical children's ballet class?
The class begins with a short warm-up phase and playful movement exercises. This is followed by short dance sequences, ballet steps, or improvisations with music. The class usually ends with a creative or calm session—e.g., short choreographies or relaxation moments.
What if my child is sick or cannot attend the course?
Please let us know as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend class — preferably via WhatsApp, phone call, or email.
As we deliberately keep our groups small, we unfortunately have to cancel the course if fewer than three children are participating.
A quick reply helps us greatly with our planning—thank you for your understanding!
What applies during school vacations and on public holidays?
During Bavarian school vacations and on public holidays, children's ballet classes are generally not held.
During these periods, regular classes are suspended so that children can enjoy their vacations.
We will inform you of the exact dates in good time before each vacation period.
How can I register my child for the children's ballet class?
Since our ballet classes have fixed times and limited places, we ask you to contact us in advance—preferably via WhatsApp, email, or in person at the studio. This will allow us to find the right class for your child together. We recommend arranging a trial lesson or trial month first so that your child can get to know the class and the group and you can be sure that they will enjoy it.
Why is the monthly fee for children's/teen courses also due during school vacations?
Our fees are calculated as an annual fee and are paid in twelve equal monthly installments. School vacations and public holidays are already taken into account in this calculation – so the amount remains constant instead of fluctuating every month.
Running costs (e.g., rent, staff, administration) are incurred throughout the year; by keeping the installments the same, we ensure quality, planning security, and your reserved place on the course, even during the holidays.
