Kids Yoga for Children Aged 6 to 10
Kids yoga combines movement, creativity and relaxation – especially for children aged 6 to 10. In a warm, safe atmosphere, children explore their bodies through play and discover how well movement and calm go together.
With varied yoga exercises, small balance and strength sequences and plenty of play, they build coordination, flexibility and concentration along the way. Stories, fantasy journeys and creative ideas spark their imagination and turn every class into a little adventure.
Breathing exercises and short quiet phases help children calm down and focus their attention – a skill that also benefits them at school and in everyday life.
The class takes place without parents: in this safe setting, children develop independence, try new things and experience the joy of movement entirely on their own.
It’s not about performance or perfect poses, but about fun, self-confidence and feeling good in their bodies – yoga that empowers and inspires children.
Frequently asked questions
What is kids yoga?
Kids yoga is yoga designed especially for children: instead of long, still poses, there’s lots of movement, games, stories and fantasy journeys. Children learn yoga exercises, small balance and strength sequences and simple breathing exercises – without any pressure to perform. No previous experience needed.
What age is kids yoga for?
Kids yoga is for children aged 6 to 10. For younger children aged 3 and up, we offer Parent & Child Yoga (ages 3 to 6), where an adult joins in.
What does a kids yoga class look like?
Each class lasts 45 minutes and follows a familiar routine: after arriving and a playful warm-up, children do yoga exercises, small balance and strength sequences and games – often woven into a story. At the end, they wind down with breathing exercises and a short quiet phase or fantasy journey. The recurring structure gives children a sense of security and helps them find their way.
Why do parents not attend the class?
Without their parents, children often dare to do more: they try new things, follow the instructions on their own and experience movement entirely for themselves. The safe setting of the group strengthens their independence and self-confidence. Simply drop your child off for the class and pick them up afterwards.
How does kids yoga benefit my child?
Kids yoga promotes coordination, flexibility and body awareness. Stories and fantasy journeys strengthen imagination and self-confidence. Breathing exercises and quiet phases help children calm down and focus their attention – something they also benefit from at school and in everyday life.
My child is very active – is kids yoga still a good fit?
Yes! Kids yoga is all about movement and play – lively children will be in their element. The quiet phases are kept short and child-friendly and help them find calm a little more easily each time.
My child is rather shy – is kids yoga right for them?
Yes, shy children often benefit the most: there’s no competition and no right or wrong. Familiar routines and a supportive group help them feel safe and build self-confidence step by step.
What does my child need for kids yoga?
Comfortable clothing your child can move freely in, non-slip socks (e.g. grip socks), a water bottle – no glass, please – and a towel. A towel is required for hygiene reasons; if you forget yours, you can rent one at the studio for €2. And of course: a good mood!
